Promise Incubator | Promise Partnership Utah

Amplifying Community-Led Change by Supporting Emerging Organizations

The Promise Partnership and United Way of Salt Lake are seeking to support and expand community organizations in our region that are committed to racial equity in the sectors of education, health, and financial stability.

Our vision is to catalyze the existing good work happening in our community. Our plan is two-fold: first, amplify community-led change, and second, be intentional about providing learning spaces and resources for BIPOC-led and BIPOC-focused organizations seeking to align and create change within our larger outcome areas.

The Promise Incubator Program

Several organizations, groups, or individuals doing innovative work that aligns with the Promise Partnership outcome areas will receive funding for two years to support the growth, development, and continued success of their organization.

The cohort of incubator organizations will participate in a group exploration to determine the skills they deem most important to develop over the next two years. They will continue to meet bi-monthly with experts to cultivate the identified skills, apply them to their organizations, and learn from other cohort members as they navigate this process. Organizations will also put key performance measures in place to evaluate what progress they’re making and how it’s contributing to Promise Partnership outcome areas.

When topics are relevant to their work, incubator organizations will be invited to attend Promise Partnership Network meetings. Our hope is that, upon completion of the program, incubator organizations have the momentum and capacity to receive further funding through our Promise Strategy grants.

Thank you for your interest!

We will be announcing our inaugural cohort soon.

Our Goals

The Promise Partnership works to ensure that every student and family in the Promise Partnership region is successful at school and in their career, leads a healthy life, and is financially stable. By working together with emerging organizations committed to racial equity, we can tackle these problems on a large scale.

Co-Create Solutions

We’re working to create systemic change, center community co-designed strategies, and implement an evolved model of funding to achieve the Promise Partnership’s desired outcomes.

Incubators will achieve these goals using a number of methods, including::

• Trainings // Workshops // Networking
• Capacity-building // Group Organizing
• Community events

Address the Gaps in Services

We are looking to bolster organizations committed to addressing unmet needs in our community, specifically the needs of the BIPOC community. Using Utah 211 Data, we compare the highest unmet needs to the most requested services by zip code. This data is available using 211 Counts. Click here for a guide on using 211 Counts.
